Falling into place

Last time I wrote I had very tight shoulders and neck. I have had one treatment and have continued stretching which seems to have worked. On the running front things appears to be going well, I am building slowly by doing a lot of walking so I don't stress my achillies too much. I do a 5-mile walk in the morning and then another 5-mile walk in the evening on Wednesday. On Friday the sun was shining so lovely that I did my run in the afternoon of 6 miles. I went along the canal as it's so quiet and peaceful. Saturday is usual swimming for me but I am doing aqua jogging instead as I can't swim due to my shoulders. I feel this is really working on strengthening my achillies as since doing it it feels a lot better during the week. Last night Sunday I did another 5 miles but unfortunately, I got two blisters. One on the ball of my left foot and the heel on my right. They were very painful. I remembered I had some blister patches from a few years ago as I am prone to blisters a bit. These are a lifesaver as I thought my training this week might be out the window. Wednesday I will do my 5-mile walk in the morning and then do a 5-mile run in the evening with company. I haven't decided if I will run on Friday or not this week but it should be around the 10-mile distance.

One lesson I did learn this week is, thin socks are not good for running or walking.
