Currently, the designated time for long runs in the club's list of training sessions is 9am on Sundays when a long run of 10miles is suggested with a possible route. However, the club does not provide a rota of volunteers to lead or tail the long runs and arrangements are normally made via Facebook (or other communication routes) for Eagles of a similar pace to run together.
If anyone wants to do a long run at another time in the weekend (1pm on Sundays has also been offered in the past), please feel free to suggest a time, distance, pace and route in the club Facebook group and see if there is any interest. If there appears to be a regular alternative time for a long run, this can be mentioned in the list of training sessions so that Eagles not on Facebook know to look out for it and to make arrangements to be kept in the loop - with the proviso (as for the current Sunday 9am long run) that the club does not provide a rota of volunteers to lead or tail the long runs.
For those on Facebook, a suggestion has been made that we could set up a regular midweek post to ask Eagles what you are planning to do for your weekend long run if you would like company (in a similar fashion to the the run corner post which asks people how their running has gone). If anyone would be interested in setting this up on a regular basis, please email coaching@ealingeagles.com
