Today marks the next step in the Government's roadmap easing lockdown. This means:
People will be allowed to meet outside, either with one other household or within the "rule of six", allowing for more social running. However, as we share paths and roads with other users who are likely to be anxious as we adjust to relaxed restrictions, we advise against running in groups of 5 or 6 at the moment.
Organised, Covid secure outdoor sports can return, meaning we can restart our coached sessions.
Coffee shops and pubs are now allowed to serve takeaway food and beverages (although pubs can not serve alcohol) to customers who can now gather outdoors in socially distanced, rule of six/two household groups to enjoy post-run refreshments.
The stay at home rule will end, extending the reach of your training routes, although the Government is urging people to stay local as much as possible.
We must remember that the Government's roadmap is conditional on continuing to mitigate the transmission of Covid 19, and we must remain considerate to our community. With that in mind, we recommend that you:
Maintain at least a 2m social distance whenever possible
Be courteous to other people who may be running, cycling or walking in the same area
Avoid times, and places you know will be busy
